A translation memory is a segment that has previously been translated and is stored to aid future human and machine translation. They help with the consistency of your translations and in reducing turn-around-time.
The TMs App allows you to request the curation of segments that the system has identified as good candidates, due to having been translated frequently.
1 - To reach the app, select Linguistic resources from the left panel, then click on Translation Memories. Enter the app by clicking on Curate.
2 - In the next screen you can search by TMs on a pipeline basis, or by searching their ID directly.
TMs are generated automatically as our editors deliver their work. Their common translations become Active translation memories that are associated with your account, and which you can search.
3 - If you're searching based on pipeline, make sure to select the correct Pipeline group, the correct pipeline, and the status of the TM. You can also add terms or expressions that are part of the source text of TM to narrow down the search. Only TMs returning an exact match (the search is case insensitive) will be displayed.
Besides active TMs, your account can posses inactive TMs, which are not in use in any way, and curated TMs, which are the ones that already completed this process once.
If you have any TMs matching the search criteria the result will look like the below. TMs have a frequency (corresponding to the number of times the sentence was translated in the same way), giving you an idea of how relevant they are.
4 - You can select the TMs you want to send for curation. To do this, check the box before each one (or the top checkbox to select/deselect all) and click the Add button. The TMs will be added to the Selected TMs tab. You can repeat the process for different pipelines until all desired TMs are selected. Next, click on the Selected TMs tab.
5 - You can remove any entry from the selection by clicking the delete (trash bin) icon at the end of every row. If you're happy with the selection, it's time to click Curate.
6 - Add any desired instructions for the editors responsible for curation. The curation batch name is created automatically.
7 - Click submit.
You can check on the status of curation batches by clicking on Linguistic resources > Translations memories again.
Clicking any of the batches will provide additional details for the TMs included in it.
