Unbabel's tasks are mainly plain text, but sometimes they come from html files. This means that they can have styles, define by tags. For instance, this sentence is in bold, between two tags. But you can't see those on Unbabel.
When sentences apart into segments, this is made so that the customer gets its translation with the original styles he defined previously.
Here's the breakdown of the process that happens on the Editing interface:
1. The pre-translation - Unbabel's Machine translation - is made so that Editors can work faster. Segments are defined according to the original's styling and format.
2. Smartcheck options help Editors fix the text according to a set of rules defined by Unbabel's AI and costumers' instructions: Tone of language, grammar, spelling and more than 15 different types of mistake checks.
When translating, rememeber these constraints: Sometimes you will have Character constraints ( a) when translating an App's menu titles, for instance ) and you will always have to keep every tasks' segments (b) so that styling isn't lost. Emptying a segment will leave it waiting for editing (click to Edit ).
Note: Do not use any writing-enhancement tools like Grammarly or Whitesmoke on Unbabel. These services work great, but they are not compatible with Smartcheck, a translation-enhancement tool with its own rules. Using these products will interfere with the segments' structure and place unnecessary code into each one of them, ruining the translation. To block Grammarly, please check the instructions provided here.
