We currently support the following file types:
- .po files must include only one language at a time and msgstr field must be empty.
- .tsv files must have one column only. tsv is ideal for excel sheets and Google sheets. You can find how you to change a sheet to a .tsv file here.
- HTML - Say you have this fellow, let’s call him.. John. John Smith. To preserve variables much like John’s name, this is is how the HTML request should look:

The only requirements are the two attributes class and origval. The tag used to wrap the variable can be of any type, however, in order to give more context to our translators, that tag should be an example of what the variable is, as demonstrated above.
Special terms
Are there any terms — your brands, product features and what have you — that should not be translated? Should the communication be formal or informal?
Each Unbabel account has one or more Brands associated with it, where at least one is checked as default. Additionally, each one has a Glossary and specific instructions related to your content/ requirements.
Depending on the content type, our Customer Success Team may ask you for a content sample or references that can be used to speed up the creation of your custom Glossaries and Style Guide.
