We’ve had a lot of feedback from editors that glossary terms can sometimes have mistakes in them and our editors really want to support this, but the process of sending everything in to us can be quite time-consuming.
We’ve therefore added a new feature to the editor interface to allow you to instantly report mistranslated glossary terms in just a few seconds, meaning you can stay committed to producing consistent, high-quality translations.
If you’re working on a task and you see a glossary translation that you believe doesn’t look right, please click on it. You’ll then be able to report it by pressing “Report” - this will send an automatic report to the Community team, who will examine it in due course (this process is very similar to the one we use for high confidence segments).
During peak periods it may take some time for us to analyse these requests, so please don’t worry if the term keeps appearing. We will work on it as soon as possible and you can, in the meantime, change the glossary term to something more suitable whilst conveying the original meaning as much as possible (though do remember to be consistent).
Please only report glossary terms that you are 100% certain are incorrect. If you think it’s a poor linguistic choice, but not necessarily an error, please use your personal judgment while keeping in mind that your preference may not necessarily match everyone else’s.
It’s also worth pointing out that glossary terms should only be changed in the most extreme circumstances. If you're not 100% sure that it’s incorrect, don't change it. In evaluations, you will be penalised for changing a glossary to an incorrect term, but won't be penalised for keeping the glossary with the original suggested translation, even though it might be wrong.
