You may have noticed that some names keep on popping up in our source and target segments. Let us explain: this is because sometimes we change names (generic proper nouns, to be precise) in order to protect the anonymity of the people in the texts, and to protect our customers’ data. These names are what we call “semantic equivalents”.
You just need to be aware of this and work with the translation you can see on screen – the rest is done behind the scenes. Do take care, however, to produce your translation according to whether the name is male, female, or neutral – if you have any doubts about this, you can refer to the names in the table below.
In short, we don’t want you to worry too much about this – if you’re not too sure, simply refer to the table below and translate as normal!
