How will Unbabel communicate with me?
Unbabel and its affiliates only use official emails for communication (i.e. ‘@unbabel.com’). We do not use public domain addresses, nor do we use telegram, SMS or whatsapp as channels of communication with our community or customers. We will never request you to engage outside of our official communication channels.
Do I need to make any payments to set up an account?
Account set up is free. Unbabel will never request you to make a payment in advance for provision of any services.
Security Awareness Tips
There are many different and sophisticated ways that scammers may connect with victims and these are ever-evolving. Whilst not exhaustive, the following provides a quick security checklist to think through when engaging with others on the internet:
Public email domain - Unbabel has its own email domain not an address that ends ‘@gmail.com’ or ‘@aol.com’ for example.
Misspelled domain names
Legitimate People - does the individual work for Unbabel?
Language standards - Is the spelling, grammar and/or punctuation poor?
Third party comms
Informal communication channels requested - e.g. telegram, SMS, whatsapp etc.
Veiled threats
Type of request - does what’s being requested make sense?
Logos and graphics - is the design and image quality as you would expect?
Suspicious attachments or links
Too good to be true? - is there a significant amount of money being offered at the outset? If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
We encourage you to stay security aware and safe, and do report any suspicious activity noted to security@unbabel.com
