Our notification system alerts you when new tasks become available. Upon signing into the platform, a pop-up will prompt you to enable notifications. Currently, notifications are supported for the following task types:
- Post-editing
- Review
- Segment Curation
Setting up the task notification in the browser
1. Open Polyglot in the browser where you want to enable notifications. See the troubleshooting section for more information on supported browsers.
2. A pop-up dialog will appear, notifying you that notifications are available and prompting you to acknowledge the message:
3. Once acknowledged, your browser will display a separate pop-up where you can enable notifications:
4. Pressing "Allow" enables browser notifications when new tasks become available, while pressing "Block" disables them.
- This dialog will not appear again. If you want to change your decision, you must update your notification settings in your browser. You can either modify the permission or remove it entirely, which will trigger the pop-up again.
- Alternatively, clearing your browser cache will also reset the notification prompt.
Example of notifications in MacOS
For notifications to work, Unbabel must remain open in a browser tab. If you close the tab, you will not receive notifications.
Troubleshooting
If you need to manage notifications, update your preferences, or troubleshoot issues, refer to the general notification instructions for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
Note: Other browsers are not supported, and notifications will not work on them.
In addition to your browser settings, your operating system may also have notifications disabled for the browser you are using. To enable them, go to your system settings and locate the notification settings for your browser.
