At Unbabel, we’re on an unwavering quest for constant improvement, knowing that your journey deserves the very best.
This is why, after careful consideration and valuable feedback from you, we've recognized that in order to prioritize a seamless experience for you, we had to listen carefully. And we did. We understand that navigating through extra lengthy projects can sometimes feel like embarking on an epic quest.
That's why we’re thrilled to unveil our latest innovation, the pagination tool, an intuitive feature crafted with your needs in mind, streamlining the way you work and leading you effortlessly to the heart of each translation segment.
Why introduce this feature?
As the number of customers is increasing, you will get to work on more and more diverse content, in terms of types, fields of expertise, but also volume of words.
With larger files, the experience of one page is not ideal (navigating the task, measuring the process, and identifying issues can get wearisome). The pagination feature aims to help you better organize your work and improve your overall experience.
How does it work?
Pagination is available for tasks longer than 250 segments.
How do you know a task has more than 250 segments? At the top, you’ll be able to see the number of pages your task will contain. Once you’ve completed the work on a specific page, you can mark that page as “done”. This way you’ll know which pages still need to be worked on and which are finished.
You can do that in two ways:
- by clicking on the page number at the top
- by pressing cmd+D (Mac) or control + D (Windows)
An important aspect to remember is that when you mark a page as done, you don’t submit it, it’s just a way for you to keep track of your work done more efficiently.
Once the page is marked as done, you can’t edit it without marking it as undone.
You can do this by clicking on the page number again or by pressing cmd+D (Mac) or control + D (Windows). This way you can edit the page again. Finally, once you finish, don't forget to mark it back as “done”.
When you mark a page as done, we will validate if everything is correct - i.e. if there are no formatting tag errors, the task respects character limits, and there are no empty segments or missing critical annotations.
If you want to easily move from one page to another, you can do so...
- by pressing ctrl+option+arrow on Mac
- by pressing ctrl+alt+arrow on Windows
Something you might want to know - for now, the number of segments displayed on the pages is not evenly split. For example, if your task is 257 segments long, you will see 250 segments on the first page (since it's the minimum length for the Pagination tool to activate) and seven segments on the next page. However, we are constantly working to optimize this experience for you.
What’s important to remember
As mentioned above, the pagination tool is just a way for you to track the work you’ve done. If you choose to skip a task after marking some of the pages as done, the work will not be saved as it’s not been submitted. Therefore, in order to be paid you still have to submit the task in its entirety rather than just marking pages as done.
How you choose to mark the pages as done will not have any impact on your work, besides what we already mentioned, namely, helping you work more efficiently.
If you move from one page to another without marking it as done, your progress will be saved. However, you can only be able to submit a task once all pages are marked as done.
