Searching for a particular word or phrase within lengthy documents can often be a challenging and time-consuming task. However, with the Find and Replace feature, you can efficiently locate specific words and phrases, making editing tasks much quicker and easier.
To open the Find & Replace menu, you will simply need to click the magnifier icon on the sidebar or use a shortcut Ctrl+F on Windows or Cmd+F on Mac.
How it works
- To use the Find functionality, you will need to type the term you want to search in the Find field. Polyglot will perform the search automatically and highlight matches in blue. Note that markup tags cannot be searched manually or by copying and pasting.
- The counter displays the number of matched terms and allows you to navigate between them using the up and down arrows.
- By default, the search is performed on the target text, but you can switch to search the source text using the "Search in" option.
- You can refine your search by checking the "Match Case" or "Whole Word" boxes:
- Match Case: This option makes the search case-sensitive.
- Whole Word: This option ensures that only entire instances of the searched word are matched, excluding matches where the searched word is part of a more significant word.
- To use the Replace functionality, type the word you want to replace in the designated field.
- You can replace terms individually or in bulk throughout the entire document by clicking the "Replace All" button. To learn more about restrictions on replacements, refer to the section on non-editable content below.
Bulk replacement in review tasks
If the task consists of multiple pages, and some of them are locked, replacing content on these pages will lead to unlocking them. If the replacement does not cause a character overflow in any segments, please mark those pages as done before submitting the task.
Non-editable content cannot be replaced
Non-editable content, such as blocked segments and non-editable annotations, cannot be replaced.
- If you focus on the non-editable content, the button "Replace" will become disabled.
- If some of the searched instances are part of uneditable content, a corresponding message will appear in the confirmation popup when performing the bulk replacement.
In this case, the total number of replacements (13) will be less than the total number of found searched instances (15) by the number of instances that are parts of uneditable content (2).

Dear Andrea,
I asked Ben some month ago when this awesome feature will be active on the Polyglot and he responded that Unbabel is working on it. Thank you so much.
Please communicate my regards to the Team.
All the Best
