Propagation, in simple terms, is a way to apply the same translation consistently across a task without having to resort to copy and paste.
In instances where the same segment appears multiple times, propagation will let you apply your final translation to other duplicate segments within the same task, saving you time and effort and allowing you to focus on unique translation segments.
Our system automatically identifies segments where propagation is applicable. When you find a segment that is duplicated, the interface will ask if you would like to update other repetitions in the task you’re working on, like this:
Then, when moving through the task, if you come across a segment that you’ve already worked on, it will show you the following options. If you want to edit, even though this segment is identical to one you’ve already worked on, select ‘edit anyway’ as the option.
When you edit a repeated segment, you'll see this message and can choose to change all duplicate segments before or after the current one, or in the entire task.
If you choose to do this, you’ll see this confirmation message.
If you’re using this feature, be aware there may be a slight delay while propagating segments, so you might not be able to edit them in the immediate moments after using this tool.
