Smart Actions were introduced in 2021 to provide our editors with different ways to work on tasks according to their own preferences and needs. They were introduced at the Community Get-Together in December 2021, and you can see this demo below (including questions and answers). In order to get the most out of this amazing feature, we strongly recommend taking a look at the video below to see it in action.
Smart Actions provide a better way to handle glossary terms. Before Smart Actions, glossary terms could only be moved by dragging and dropping with the mouse. Now, however, you can move glossary terms using your keyboard!
To use Smart Actions, press / while editing the text to bring up the Smart Actions menu and work with glossary terms. For example, to insert the first glossary term used in the source, press /, then 1, then enter. This will then insert the glossary term in the line of text. You can also use this feature to restore any deleted glossary terms.
In addition to this new feature, editors can now copy and paste the source text into the target and retain the translated glossary terms. This means that you won’t accidentally lose glossary terms while editing.
Editors can also use “up” and “down” keys on the keyboard to navigate between segments.
Next time you’re editing a task, feel free to check out these features. If you’ve got any questions, please feel free to contact support.
